Overview
Influencing policy
One World Action challenges international policies that make and keep women and men poor. Recognising that decisions made by powerful institutions have a great impact on all our lives and communities, we campaign to influence development policy and practice in the United Kingdom and the European Union. We pay particular attention to how the European Union and the UK Department for International Development (DFID) mainstream governance, gender and social inclusion in all their development interventions and policies. We organise forums and seminars, conduct research and documentation, and advocate for pro-poor and gender-responsive development, trade, aid and foreign policy. Further, we create opportunities for our Southern partners to speak directly to decision-makers and influence change in their respective countries.
