One World Action supports bold and ground-breaking initiatives to ensure that citizens engage successfully with their governments at all levels and hold them to account. Transparency, accountability and responsiveness are central to democratic governance and are best demanded by an informed and robust civil society, capable of meaningfuly civic engagement. We support our partners in creating and enlarging inclusive spaces for such engagements, for example, ensuring citizens’ participation in local planning and budget allocation. We also advocate and campaign for stronger local, national and international mechanisms, laws and frameworks that promote engagement between citizens and governments.
