Our VISION is of a Just and Equal World, where there is no need for One World Action.
Our MISSION is to create the power and opportunity for the poorest citizens to transform their own lives, and to challenge the international policies that maker and keep people poor

To this end, we provide funding, expertise and practical support to partner organisations committed to strengthening the democratic process and improving people’s lives in poor and developing countries.
We place particular emphasis on women's rights and gender equality; a just and equal world isn't possible if half the world is excluded.
As well as supporting our partners’ work on the ground, we make it possible for our partners to advocate for themselves and their causes direct to UK and European policy makers - we believe marginalised citizens are their own best advocates.
Our partners include disabled people's organisations, grassroots community groups, organisations of people living with HIV/AIDS, co-operative movements, women’s organisations, trade unions, many others. Though diverse in kind, they have a common commitment to strengthening local institutions and giving people a say in the decisions that shape their lives.
Central to our work is the belief that defeating poverty goes hand in hand with promoting human rights and good democratic government. Only if we pursue these goals in a coherent way can we build a just and equal world.
