Our Stories
There are countless stories of hope and struggle that never get told. All over the world, women and men are transforming their own lives in the face of poverty and exclusion.
For people living with HIV/AIDS, discrimination is a matter of life and death. In countries like Malawi, where some people are managing on one meal a day, such discrimination may mean being denied access to vital farm subsidies. Women, and particularly people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV), face hunger unless this issue is addressed.
Members of the Paradiso Support Group in Ngwenya, Lilongwe, shared their experiences regarding fertilizer coupons distributed by the Malawian government from 2005 to 2007 with One World Action's Tara Brace-John. This led One World Action and partners COWLHA and MANET+ to make a submission to the International Development Committee of the British House of Commons regarding this critical issue. Read the full story and full text of the submission here.
